Re: Rumours of price increase

I didn't see any mention of £150 per month in the email I received, where did that come from?

Fasthosts aren't even on there - they must be ashamed of their ranking! I've submitted them for inclusion.

Re: Host Europe acquires Heart Internet

Thanks for that. It's not a matter of whether it makes any difference to us, although I'd be surprised if it didn't long term, but it's the sort of thing that they should do out of courtesy. It gives the impression that they're too busy to think about their customers.

Host Europe acquires Heart Internet

I've always dreaded this possibility and now it's happened - http://www.sourcewire.com/releases/rel_display.php?relid=66670 I've been through this before, when Webfusion was bought by Host Europe, then when HE were bought by Pipex. Customer service went downhill after the first takeover then really ...

Re: webhostingfirm.co.uk

Definitely report this to Heart Internet, with a list of files and date stamps, and get them to verify, in writing in a support ticket, that the date stamps they see on the server are same as your list. Don't change any content until you've done this!

Re: How do you make a profit from HI Domains?

As above, I don't push domains too much, they're just a courtesy service for hosting clients. I originally based my prices on the old Webfusion (pre-123reg) price of £5.78+VAT, now £6.94 inc VAT, so I'm under-charging too after bank/card charges are added. Time for a small price hike I think! How th...

Re: Reseller Account Price Increases

I had my own nameservers once but at £100 a year they're just too much of a luxury. I suspect they either sell really well or they're seen as too much hassle to set up.

Re: Unable to access

Sneeky, I go away for one hour and that message has gone They really should keep such messages so that I know I wasn't dreaming! "Fault corrected at xx:xx" That's in the hope that nobody will notice that there's been a problem :) The one I worry about is the "We have disabled one of your customers ...

Re: Unable to access

Message about a network fault on the status page now, it includes servers 52 to 55.

I reveived one those ominous "We have raised a support ticket to contact you" emails from them this morning too, probaly means a client's account has been suspended, good job it's not a weekday!

Re: October 2010 update?

I'll back up what Maximus said, although the usual reason for a site being taken down without notice is either a badly scripted PHP file that's run amok, or a site that's sending or receiving DDoS-style rapid requests.

I'm still happy with them though.
