UPDATE WINDOWS XP - without the hassle

Post by jthspace » Mon May 01, 2006 2:09 pm

You have to use Mozilla Firefox for this to work, hardly a problem!

Go to www.windizupdate.com

Let it load the Mozilla add-in (check the pop up "allow" window)

This add-in will allow Windows XP updates but without the hassle of going through the Windows Update sites from Microsoft.

Jeff

And don't forget the site http://100-downloads.com/updates/ for all of your Windows add-ons.

Thanks for that Jeff. Any way to avoid an MS page is always welcome ;)

OK, few points I have learnt from using the above site

Only works with English language version of Windows

Updates are anything up to a week later than MS ones (presumably as they have to download them and post on their site) so if it is an priority update, make your own decision as to where to update from

It seems to bypass WGA for some reason 8)

As I find out more, I will update . . .

Jeff
