550 Administrative prohibition???

Post by DonnieH » Wed Jun 06, 2007 10:33 pm

Hi

Since yesterday every email I try to send I keep getting the an Undeliverable email message from System Administrator with the following format:-

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject:
Sent: 06/06/2007 22:05

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'craig brown' on 06/06/2007 22:05
550 Administrative prohibition

Anyone know why this is?

I havent changed ISP or anyhting and I can receive emails as normal. ISP is UKFSN.

Regards
Don

If your sending emails to different people at different ISP's and getting that message on all of them then the problem must be your outgoing smtp server.

Your sending of mail is being blocked for some reason. Could be your isp is on a blacklist. Or could be you have to turn authentication on in your mail client. What mail software are you using ?

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried on my desktop and laptop thinking it could be my machine. Same symptoms.

Must be something to do with my domain (from thegraphicscompany)

You should have given me your domain details and I could have looked into it for you. I assumed it was a general problem you were having. Although there were no mail server issues that I was aware of.

Ok I have found the source of the problem. Another user, using the same mail server was running a script which got the server blacklisted for spam. This has now been shut down and the server is being removed from the blacklist as I write this, so your mail should be back to normal very soon.

I can only apologise for the inconvenience but it's hard to know who is running what until a problem like this occurs.

Not sure if this is fixed or not but can you pm me the headers from one of the bounced emails so I can try and get to the source of this problem ?

Thanks
