LG LCD / Freeview / 160Gb HD

Post by jthspace » Wed Jan 16, 2008 10:29 am

OK, looking around for a new TV with Freeview as I am really pee'd off with BT Vision box.

Saw an LG with Freeview twin tuners and 160Gb hard disk built in

Have seen it cheaper elsewhere, but certainly looks like bending the flexible friend may be in order!

Having seen LG and Panasonic screens on display, I have been amazed at the quality of the picture on these screens, far sharper than other makes.

Anyone got an LG and can comment?

Went to see one in Curry's - display price was £699 ha ha

Dixons on-line offered it for £535, 30 day delivery

Impressed with the picture, so ordered one off the web for £485 delivered with free HDMI cable - came in three days.

Set it up last night and it is so much better than my Toshiba screen. The only "downside" is that the SCART does not autoswitch when you power on the Sky box. Will try an "all leads" connected instead of the existing lead, but pin 8 (switching) is connected already.

Maybe a "niggle" rather than a lack of feature . . . .

I have bought a Sky HD box off eBay and will get this wired in as soon as possible. I am off on business for a few days, so will report back mid-week next week when I am back.
