sealing crankcase with yamabond

Post by maximus » Thu May 25, 2017 9:39 pm

I am in the process of building a 2005 CR125 dirt bike. I went to pressure test the cylinder after I put it back and i have a leak at the rear of there cylinder base. I think it is from a leaking crankcase gasket as it is also leaking in another spot. I inspected and cleaned the mating surfaces before assembly so I'm not sure why it's leaking. there is a paper like gasket that is sandwiched between the case halves. Would there be any harm in either leaving the gasket out and seaing with yamabond or coating gasket with yamabond? I suppose i could have a warped cylinder base but I think it is less likely.

Thanks
