Possible to bypass BitLocker-encrypted laptop?

I've got a Lenovo laptop that was encrypted by Windows BitLocker after downloading a Windows update. It's hit loads of Lenovo laptops, and because so many people haven't actually set a password for it, they're unable to unlock it. Me included.

I called Lenovo and Microsoft, and they were Omegle PutLocker both unable to do anything for me. I was wondering whether I could take the hard drive out, throw it into an enclosure and connect it to my computer (ASRock motherboard), and just wipe it clean from there. The laptop has Windows 10 on it, and I'm not too fussed about keeping the data. If I have to, could I remove Windows entirely and just put Linux or something onto it?
