PcMacZone has been around in one form or another since the days of acoustic modems and bulletin boards.

Originally we went by the name “Scarab” which was a reference to the ancient Egyptians belief that the Scarab was a symbol of rebirth and being reborn, which of course is very apt given the amount of times we have reshaped and reinvented ourselves over the years.

PcMacZone/Scarab has always been a small oasis of calm in an otherwise very frantic web. We have never actively advertised ourselves but despite that we have managed to bring together a great bunch of people from all walks of life who share a common interest. Many of our members have been with us for getting on for 20 years so we must be doing something right!

We have always had a policy of freedom of speech on the site and forum. Some might say we sail a bit close to the wind, especially on subjects surrounding the hacking of mobile phones and sat nav systems and whilst we would never condone piracy we do feel people should be able to do what they want with their own equipment, after all, you paid your hard earned money for it, why should someone else dictate what you can and can’t do with it!

If your of a different mind then I would say PcMacZone is not really the place for you.

Hopefully we will be here for another 30 years…at least! in one form or another and we sincerely hope to take you with us on the journey.
