Once of best tech reviewers on the web, Lisa Gade takes a look at the new 27″ iMac for 2017. The all-in-one comes standard with a 27” 5K Retina display with wide P3 color gamut, Thunderbolt 3, Apple’s Magic Mouse 2 and Bluetooth Magic Keyboard. The computer starts with quad core 65 watt Intel 7th generation Kaby Lake Core i5 CPUs, and a 4.2 GHz Core i7 is also available. It has AMD Radeon Pro 5xx series graphics (570, 575 and 580 available). The 3 stock configurations cost $1,799, $1,999 and $2,299, and we look at the $1,999 configuration in our review.
The mac supports up to 64GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM, and is available with 1, 2 and 3 TB Fusion drives (a 7200 RPM HDD with large cache) or an SSD. The design is unchanged from the late 2015 iMac, other than the addition of two Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gbps) / USB-C Gen. 2 ports on the back. For those who want even more power, the iMac Pro will be available in December 2017.
